Points North Heli-Adventures, Inc.

PNH was created with the intention of providing a true Alaskan experience for our guests.

Company Description

As you lie in bed you hear the sound of helicopters warming up. You head for the dining area and there is a buzz in the air. Groups are posted the night before so you already know what time your flight departs. You have plenty of time eat breakfast and get ready for the days excursion.

A sack lunch is provided for you and kept in your pack. As you prepare to fly out your guide goes through a refresher of the safety briefings you went through the night before. At this point your body is full of excitement. You load the aircraft and before you know it, you have sensory overload. You have suddenly realized you are experiencing an adventure beyond your dreams.

Heli Ski Cruise

This beautiful 85 foot vessel can take you to places no other heli operation in the world can. This is an all inclusive trip providing accommodations and meals aboard the Maritime Maid. You get your own private helicopter with a total of 8 flight hours for 5 possible ski days. All heli time is cumulative and is non refundable. This means that you can burn any amount of heli time you desire each and every day until you meet your 8 hour total.

Ice Climbing

These glaciers all host amazing ice caves and cracks, which makes it visually beautiful to ice climb as well as challenging. Ice climbing takes many forms but, unsurprisingly, the basic principle it to ascend some form of frozen water using ice axes and crampons. This may be compacted ice on an alpine North faces, very compacted ice on glaciers, or frozen, near vertical, waterfalls and water seepage’s from cliff sides. A short walk or snowmobile easily accesses many of our glaciers. Points North will supply guests with the necessary instruction and equipment is available for a small rental fee.

Sky Diving

Where else in the world can you jump from 10,000 feet and have an opportunity to skydive with the spectacular views of the Chugach Mountains as a backdrop, not to mention the mighty Pacific Ocean and Prince William Sound. These mountains grow directly out of the ocean and reach up to 10,000 feet plus.

Hiking

The town of Cordova takes pride in their trail up keep and every year builds new trails. The shortest hike, “Haystack” trail, is around a 45 minute trek and has wildlife galore in a natural rain forest setting. “Big Tree” hike, skirts along the Heney Range with a Prince William Sound backdrop taking you to a the biggest tree in Cordova. Then you have “McKinney Lakes” trail and other numerous trails that are longer, 2-3 hour mission where you bring a packed lunch and make a day of it.
