Company Description
Skydive Alabama is currently the only dropzone located in North Alabama. We are conveniently located just 40 minutes south of Huntsville and just 30 minutes north of Birmingham, making us the closest skydiving facility to these cities. You cannot find a dropzone closer to these cities that provide a minimum of a 13,500 feet skydive. Watch out though, some dropzones promise altitudes in excess of 13,500 feet, but they don't deliver. Our experienced instructors will teach you how to skydive safely. Skydive Alabama is a group member of the United States Parachute Association (USPA), which means that we agree, in the interest of safety and good communications, to abide by the safety standards they set. This also means that all of our instructional staff are certified by the USPA.
First Time Jumpers
We have been assisting people in making their first skydive for over 10 years! We are located just off I-65, between Birmingham and Huntsville, and not too far from Nashville.
For your first jump you have a couple of options. You can choose a tandem skydive where you are paired with a USPA-certified instructor. This offers you a low-responsibility way to experience freefall for the first time. There is approximately 15-20 minutes of training on the ground before you are suited up and ready to board the airplane. This is absolutely the safest and most popular way to make your first skydive!
The other option is to do the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) Course. This involves a 6-8 hour ground school, starting at 8 a.m., where you will learn everything you need to know about skydiving solo. This is a seven jump program. After passing all seven jumps, you will be cleared to jump by yourself.
As one of the top skydiving schools in the Southeast and open seven days a week, we are able to offer an “A-license in a week” package!
Experienced
With covered indoor packing, overnight accommodations, a restaurant on location, large turbine aircraft, as well as, a Cessna 182, we can usually get you your skydiving fix any day of the week!
We boast the largest landing area in Alabama with a cool looking old van that will come pick you up!. Safety comes first and we have a seperate high performance landing area for swoopers and high performance landings. Sometimes we even have IPC gates set up for competition swooping practice.
We have Wingsuit Introduction Flights available with Omar on most Saturdays and Canopy Coaching with Paul, a three-time IPC canopy piloting world championship medalist and test jumper. There is also RW load organising with Joseph, a holder of the current Men's World Record Formation - 122 people and completion of three Australian National Records in a row - 105, 109, and 112 people!! He is also looking forward to being selected for the DUBAI 500 Team World Record in 2013. Jumping and organizing formations is a passion of Joseph's and he tries to make the jumps fun and challenging for all jumpers regardless of jump number or experience level.
