| Alternative Adventure offers a Mobile Outdoor Pursuits and Adventure Activities Service. Activities available include Mobile Climbing Walls, Abseiling, Rock Climbing, Archery and Mountain Biking. Based in Bury Lancashire, they operate throughout the North West of England, including the Lake District, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, West Yorkshire and Cheshire.

Our service is available to corporate and management groups, stag and hen parties, schools, colleges and youth groups, adult and junior birthday parties, family groups as and when required.
Course director Stuart Igoe has been a professional in the field of Outdoor Education since 1980.
Stuart is: Licensed by the HSE AALA licensing scheme / Member of the Association of mountaineering instructors AMI / Member of Mountain Leader Training Association MLTA / Member of the Institute for Outdoor Learning IfOL / Approved course provider for Mountain Leader Training England MLTE qualifications awards / National Navigation Award Scheme NNAS Course provider / British Orienteering approved Course tutor for coaching / teaching awards
 Our Mobile Climbing Walls, which we have available for hire, are built by Entre Prises Ltd. Of Colne in Lancashire for Alternative Adventure. The 6 metre high structure offers 3 different faces which can accommodate 4 climbers at any one time and over 40 climbers an hour. This resource is brought out to your venue and erected ready for use with our friendly staff.
An ideal activity for any Corporate Days; Product launches; Fairs; Extended School schemes; Park events; Country Shows; School sports days, Scout Camps; After school clubs; Guide events; Pub fun days etc.
 Seen it on TV, fancy the challenge? What is needed is trust, confidence, and the spirit of adventure. We use a variety of abseil venues throughout the area (25-150ft pitches) which offer challenge to all ages and abilities, in a fun, informative and safe environment. We provide the equipment and expertise, you provide the adventurous spirit. During the year we provide technical support to a number of charities who use abseiling events to fund raise. All rock climbing and abseiling courses are delivered by members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors AMI.
Why not combing with one or more of our adventure activities like Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing or Gorge Waling to create an Adventure Day of activities.
 Ever felt the challenge of the real rock face calling? Have you been on an indoor wall? Our taster course will give you the opportunity to experience the thrill of REAL ROCK CLIMBING outdoors on small, friendly single pitch (25-85ft) crags, at venues throughout the local area on a fun, informative and safe course. You provide the THIRST FOR ADVENTURE - we provide the technical equipment and expertise! As an alternative venue we can provide sessions at indoor walls. All rock climbing and abseiling courses are delivered by members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors AMI.  This ancient skill requires all the hand and eye co-ordination of Robin Hood and his Merry Men, even using modern equipment. Archery is an activity which all ages and abilities can participate and is thus ideally suited to be delivered as an individual or team event. A ideal activity for a family fun session of kids birthday party.

 Mud, sweat, tears and effort. Experience the exhilaration of off road action with the wind in your face, spectacular views and lots of fresh air. For the novices, why not try a ride along one of the many forest, farm cycle tracks or old railway routes. Why not combing with one or more of our adventure activities like Archery, Rock Climbing or Gorge Waling to create an Adventure Day of activities.
Mountain Bike Hire - We are able to offer bike hire to individuals, families and groups at Lever Park, Rivington, Horwich.

 Other activities that we provide are: Pot-holing/Caving, Raft Building, Rock Scrambling, Team Building - Problem Solving exercises, Kayak and Open Canoeing, Gorge Walking, Mountain Rescue exercise, Sea Cliff Traversing, Orienteering, Earth Ball/Parachute Games, Adventure Days at School and Youth Group own sites.
Skills Courses and qualifaction: Rock Scrambles, Canoeing River Trips, Map and Compass Day, Rock Climbing Skills, Caving, Mountain Bike Skills, Caving SRT skill training. Qualification course available from the Mountain Leader Training Board, British Orienteering, National Navigation Award, British Canoe Union.
